PG Bison, South Africa’s leading wood panel, has installed and commissioned its sixth melamine faced board (MFB) press, which came online on 21 August 2019.

“This is a first of its kind robotic line and was engineered by PG Bison’s own highly competent inhouse project team,” says CEO Gerhard Victor. “In the six months since the project was announced, our project team were able to unpack the MFB press from its storage in Boksburg, completely refurbish and update it with the latest technology and ship it to Piet Retief for installation and commissioning.”

Manufacturing Executive, Brand Engelbrecht, is thrilled with the project team’s performance. The team completed the project earlier than planned and within budget. He explains that the additional capacity will help bring even more flexibility to PG Bison’s product offering and ensure that service levels are maintained in the peak trading periods.

It will also support the exciting new range developments, which will be launched within the next few months under the campaign name Gallery Three.

PG Bison’s Gallery Three Road Show will get underway in March 2020 and will ensure that PG Bison continues to set the trends on the African continent. Watch this space for all the exciting updates!
