One of the most exciting stands at this year’s Decorex Joburg, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre from 9 to 13 August, is the Franke Kitchen Design Project. Themed ‘Simplicity in Design’, the project involves four participating kitchen manufacturers each designing and building an installation that interprets the theme in their own way.

Two of the four entries this year – Micah Kitchens, and Universal Kitchens and Granite –  have made extensive use of PG Bison products. “We have created a space that showcases the latest design trends while still operating as a functional working space,” said Matthew Dodd, Micah Kitchens’ General Manager. “Asymmetrical designing, along with the latest materials and state of-the-art appliances will turn one of Micah’s top designer’s creations into a reality.”

While Micah plans a colour palette of urban neutrals accented with black, they plan to add warmth and texture to the glossy finishes they’ve chosen with wood accents.

Universal Kitchens and Granite is planning to pursue the trend for accenting their design with bright colours, also favouring high gloss finishes. Universal Kitchens and Granite Managing Director, Clinton van Breda, says simplicity can be introduced with handle-less cupboard doors as well as well as super-slim 12mm tops for a sharp edged, light finish.

To view some exquisite modern kitchen designs, learn about the latest kitchen products and appliances, and interact directly with Kitchen Specialists Association (KSA) and its members, get to Decorex Joburg at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 9 to 13 August. Tickets are sold through and at the door.
