A recap of how PG Bison is strengthening communities through meaningful giving

As the festive season unfolds, we would like to take a moment to reflect on some of our 2025 Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives. At PG Bison the spirit of giving is a year-round commitment through which we champion positive development and change in the communities we operate in.

From early childhood support to education and enterprise development, PG Bison’s CSI initiatives focus on creating lasting opportunities and meaningful impact in the communities we operate in.

“Our CSI projects are an integral part of our business. We don’t just enable the creation of beautiful spaces, we strengthen both the educational and community ecosystems,” says Sibusiso Dlamini, Executive: Human Capital and Stakeholder Relations.

Nqabakazulu High School donation

In KwaMashu in Durban, PG Bison stepped in to support Nqabakazulu High School’s thriving woodwork programme. What began as a request to repair a damaged ceiling resulted in the PG Bison team assisting with repairing the roof and ceiling, repainting the walls and cleaning the space, ensuring that the space is safe and fit for learning. We also donated a new desk for the woodwork teacher and have committed to supplying the school with board material for each term’s assessments.

Revisiting Lungisani Edu-Care Centre

Working with community development workers, chiefs and councillors, this year, we returned to the Lungisani Edu-care Centre in Mkhondo, Mpumalanga, an early childhood development facility that PG Bison built for the community in 2022.

To support healthy eating and the growth of the little ones attending Lungisani Edu-care Centre, we planted 150 vegetable seedlings at the centre, through this project PG Bison employed 10 casual workers to assist in its completion.

Additionally, our team handed out educational packs and provided 60 food hampers to vulnerable households, including child-headed, disability-headed and pensioner-headed families.

“At PG Bison, we value the importance of early childhood development. Creating spaces that nurture growth and supporting the families and communities around them is essential to achieving meaningful impact,” says PG Bison Community Liaison Officer, Mkhondo, Sanelisiwe Cele.

Career exhibition at Injongo Youth Centre

At the Injongo Youth Centre in Mkhondo, Mpumalanga which PG Bison donated to the Mkhondo community in February 2025, we celebrated top achieving Grade 9 learners from Mlilo Comprehensive School and Kemp Siding Combined School who scored above 70% for the third term. The learners were invited to an awards ceremony at the PG Bison Mkhondo plant, followed by a career exhibition held at the Injongo Youth Centre.

“This initiative is aimed at motivating learners to focus on maths and science and to work hard to achieve top results, while helping them make informed subject choices,” says Sanelisiwe Cele, Community Liaison Officer PG Bison, Mkhondo.
