Long Service Awards: Victor Zulu

Victor Zulu started working for PG Bison in 1981 as a contractor during the construction of the company. In 1983, he started working as an assistant at the log yard, then he was appointed as the Log Yard Operator after his co-worker left. He is a football lover and loves spending quality time with his family.
What is your position at PG Bison, and what do you enjoy most about it?
I am an operator at the Log yard and my job is to grind the logs to chips, to produce the boards. Being part of the manufacturing process excites me a lot because I work with a committed team, and we always push for production.
What makes you proud to work for PG Bison?
The company has groomed me, and I am proud to say that I have stayed with the company for over 40 years, and it is a milestone to me.
How has your experience with the company been?
My experience with the company has been good and still is good, because I know that I have always maintained good working relations with my colleagues, and I make sure that I work hard for satisfactory results.
What is one thing you wish more people knew about you?
I am a hard worker, and everyone must know that my work drives me to wake up every day.
What are your future career goals?
I have played my role for the longest time and I’m close to reaching my retirement, so my goals are to go back to Kwa-Zulu Natal and continue to take care of my farm and animals.
What are your greatest achievements during your time at PG Bison?
I started working for PG Bison as a contractor and today I’m an operator at the log yard and to me that’s one of the greatest achievements.
