PG Bison Celebrates the Legacy of Madiba Through Unity and Action
Each year, Mandela Day reminds us that even the smallest acts of service have the power to create lasting change. Inspired by Madiba’s enduring legacy of compassion, dignity and community, PG Bison continues to invest in initiatives that create meaningful impact where it is needed most.
Our culture of care extends beyond the products we manufacture. It is reflected in the partnerships we build, the communities we support and the opportunities we create for people to thrive. This year’s Mandela Month initiatives once again brought together employees, partners and volunteers, united by a shared commitment to making a difference.
Creating spaces that restore dignity

For many years, St. Anne’s Homes has provided refuge, hope and support to women and children facing difficult circumstances, helping to restore dignity, stability and a sense of belonging.
PG Bison partnered with R&L Architects, Easylife Kitchens, Easylife Northgate Island and W3O to undertake a renovation and upliftment project at the Cape Town-based shelter. Together, we transformed the home’s kitchen into a warm, modern and welcoming space using our MelaWood product range Pasadena and Rioverde, matched with our Formica LifeSeal Worktop in Downtown, while a Petrol Blue storage cupboard completed the space.
The day was about far more than renovating a space. Volunteers repainted rooms, prepared meals for residents and spent time with the children through fun activities, pizza-making sessions and a hope bracelet workshop. These moments of shared purpose reinforced the importance of hope, healing and community.

Caring for the communities around us
Our commitment to uplifting communities also extended beyond the walls of the organisations we support. In the Southern-Cape PG Bison’s SafeHub, volunteers dedicated 67 minutes of service to a community clean-up, collecting litter, sweeping streets and helping restore shared public spaces.

The initiative created a cleaner, safer and more welcoming environment for residents while encouraging community ownership and pride. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration, with future clean-up efforts set to benefit from stronger partnerships with local municipalities to address larger dumping sites and improve waste collection.
Living Madiba’s legacy every day

Mandela Month is a powerful reminder that lasting change is built through collective action. Whether it is creating welcoming spaces for people in need, caring for the neighbourhoods around us or investing in initiatives that strengthen communities, every contribution plays a role in building a better future.
At PG Bison, we remain committed to partnering with organisations that share our vision of uplifting communities through practical support, collaboration and care. By combining our expertise, products and the passion of our people, we continue to honour Madiba’s legacy, not only in July, but throughout the year. Together, we create spaces and communities where people can live, learn and thrive.
