Stylish floating furniture from Wallroom
We love seeing the beautiful creations people make from PG Bison products. We chatted to Raoul Motani from Wallroom about their range of floating furniture. Here’s what he had to say:
Tell us a bit about your furniture.
Wallroom manufactures unique bespoke furniture, made to order. We specialise in floating TV units, which are wall mounted. The concept of a Wallroom is floating furniture that’s off the floor, doesn’t take up space, declutters living spaces and provides a beautiful piece of furniture to display your TV.
The backboard hides unsightly cables and plug points and the units are hung on the wall with French cleats, enabling you to take your unit with you should you move home or decide to redecorate.
How customisable are the units?
We have numerous designs. You can choose to suit your needs, from push-to-open drawers to push-to-open flaps, board shelves, glass shelves, display cabinets, open compartments for components, decorative panels, down lighting, strip lighting and backlit LED lighting. The units range from 1.4m to 3.2m.
Our range is complimented with coffee tables and floor standing plasma units, and we’ve just launched a floating headboard, floating dressing table and desk.
We have some new designs too. The Clifton Mk 2 has space for several components, as well as drawer space. Umhlali is a unique new modern design that has a panel with backlighting, glass shelf and space for other components to suit. The Zinkwazi 3pc has a large centre TV unit of 2.2 metres wide that accommodates large TVs (we are seeing a lot of people buying 75 inch TVs), and has display units on the sides with glass shelves and down lights.
What’s your favourite and why?
The Kenton Wallroom, as it’s minimalistic and for me embodies “decluttering”. It was our first design that we made.
Tell us about using PG Bison to create your product range?
We offer our customers the full PG Bison range of melamine products – wood grains, solid colours and high gloss – as well as other wood products.
My dad opened his first furniture factory in the 60s and the Lubner family who started and owned PG were the first supplier to offer him credit. We have been loyal to them since then. For 25 years I mass produced plasma units, wall units, coffee tables etc. for the retail trade and I only used PG Bison product. Their service and quality has always been good and they have always had great staff to deal with. Wallroom is a fairly new business and it is the first time that I have used their melamine products.
What makes Wallroom stand out?
Our product is unique and very new to SA. We are proudly South African, manufacturing our furniture locally at our factory in Johannesburg. We do also delivery nationally.
Interacting with our customers provides us with the inspiration to design new product. We love the response that we get from them. We know that people have very different likes and requirements and with our wide range of options we are able to cater for everyone. We constantly work on introducing new lines, colours, finishes and items that can enhance the look and feel of our designs.
We use precision machinery and we use the best original eco-friendly and sustainable materials available. We have close to 30 years of experience in furniture manufacturing and in the retail sector. Our skilled and happy workforce love what they do and their attention to detail ensures we deliver a superior quality and finish.
We are a small business run by a husband and wife team who thrive on hearing our customers say that they “love” their units. We know we have done well when customers come back for their second and third units.
